PM Shri Atal Utkrisht GIC Amsyari

PM SHRI School is a centrally sponsored scheme by the Government of India launched in 2022. This initiative aims to develop more than 14,500 PM SHRI Schools managed by Central Government, State/UT Governments, and local bodies including Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVS). These schools will provide a welcoming, inclusive, safe, and stimulating learning environment, ensuring access to modern infrastructure, digital classrooms, smart labs, and green practices such as solar power, rainwater harvesting, and plastic-free campuses. Every student will have access to a wide range of learning opportunities that promote creativity, critical thinking, and holistic development.
These schools will serve as model institutions, embodying the core principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, including competency-based learning, experiential pedagogy, and integration of vocational education from an early stage. The goal is to nurture children into engaged, productive, and responsible citizens, capable of contributing to an equitable, inclusive, and plural society.
More than 20 lakh students are expected to directly benefit from this scheme, while the best practices and innovations developed in PM SHRI Schools will be scaled and replicated across the wider school education system in India. The scheme also aims to enhance the quality of education by strengthening teacher training, assessment methods, governance systems, and community participation.
The scheme is proposed to be implemented over a period of five years (2022-23 to 2026-27) with shared funding between the Centre and States/UTs, and will include a strong monitoring and evaluation framework to ensure outcomes are effectively measured and sustained.
